BATLEY SELF HELP DEPRESSION GROUP

VACANCIES
TRUSTEES
Batley Self Help Depression Group (BSHDG) is a small charity providing opportunities for self help and support to sufferers of depression and their carers. We are a developing organisation with plans to expand our services. We employ 8 members of staff and have a team of 15 volunteers. Our annual turnover is £100,000.
We wish to recruit new members to our board of trustees.
To help us develop we need people who can help direct BSHDG towards achieving its aims and objectives and ensure that the organisation is managed effectively. We are keen to recruit members of the local community in North Kirklees who have one or more of the following skills:
Work experience in the Primary Care Trust, Mental Health Trust or Local Authority.
Work experience in Health or Social Care.
Local community involvement in North Kirklees
Experience in marketing, public relations etc.
Experience in voluntary and community sector management.
Accountancy / fundraising skills.
We are particularly keen to achieve a diverse board of trustees and welcome applications from all sections of the community. The trustees meet monthly at the Batley Resource Centre, usually on a Wednesday afternoon. The board is responsible for the strategic direction of BSHDG and guides and supports the Service Development Manager and staff. We have sub committees who are more actively involved in specific aspects of the management of BSHDG. It is not a mandatory requirement to be involved in a sub committee.
